It’s time to make peace with yourself and start really living
Your body is not your enemy
Problem
Most of us have a tricky relationship with food, exercise and our body. It gets even trickier when we are neurodivergent.
Emotional dysregulation, impulse control and food aversions impact the role food plays in our lives. This is exacerbated when we are larger in size and blamed for our weight. Exercise can be a struggle due to many of the challenges in being neurodivergent.
What follows are comments, criticisms and shaming of how we look, what we eat and how much we exercise. A lifetime of this feedback can make simply existing difficult.
Did you know that we have less control over our weight and health than is often believed? The American Medical Association has identified six keys factors that contribute to weight and health:
-Genetics
-Stress
-Trauma
-Food insecurity and poverty
-Racial and cultural oppression
-Nutrition and Exercise
I offer you a safe place to explore the myriad of ways that your body has been your enemy and what living in peace with your body would be like.
Imagine feeling neutral about your size, what you eat and how much you exercise. You can learn how to set health goals for yourself that don’t involve weight loss. You can learn to expand your food palette while appreciating the foods that feel safest for you.
I will help you untie your self worth from your body so that you can stop holding yourself back and start living a fulfilled life.
